ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The iGen Film Festival will take place October 31st - November 3rd, 2024 in Historic Overtown. The festival highlights young filmmakers from around the globe ages 13-25 and connects them with the youth community of Overtown and the surrounding Miami area. The festival looks to celebrate and inspire filmmakers to develop their technical and creative skills.

Last year, our team received over 2,000 of film submissions. Each film is reviewed and scored. The top-ranking films are screened over the 3-day event. During our annual Blue Carpet Awards Show, the winners per film category are announced: Best Short Film, Best Short Web, Best Documentary Film, and Best Narrative.

Our mission is to diminish the barriers to inclusion with the film industry while creating equitable platforms for growth and development. We are celebrating our 8th Annual Film Festival and welcomes your support and contributions to this 3-day cinematic event; as it will not only help build awareness around emerging iGEN filmmakers but also help put a spotlight on emerging youth in film, arts, and culture. festival will provide a platform for film creatives to find their voice in a rapidly expanding landscape.
